Yesterday was his party in the park--the same one where we had Nathan's first birthday. Fortunately, it was about 25 degrees cooler than that day back in 2006, but it was still very warm! Park parties always leave my head swimming in a mix of elation, silliness, anxiety, dirt, sugar, and exhaustion. We're so lucky so many family and friends wanted to come out and celebrate with us, despite completely inadequate quantities of restrooms, comfortable seating, sanity, roast beef sandwiches and cutlery. Thank you to you all!

Birthday Blast
Be on the lookout for the birthday bash truck. It hit everyone in my family this weekend and left us dragging, sore, but wonderfully tired. I even have the frosting skid marks on my head to prove it. (Hmmm...was that too graphic?) On Friday we took Evan out to our favorite family eatery, Souplanation, where we left a crumb trail throughout the entire restaurant. I will never forgive SP for introducing grilled cheese focaccia into my life. Anyway, following dinner, we returned home for a few gifts and Evan's first cupcake! It was a nice mellow way to usher in the weekend.
